Thank you for inquiring about our German Shepherd stud service. In order to protect the health of our stud dog, and of your female we require that all females be tested negative for Brucellosis, mycoplasma and anaerobic bacteria prior to breeding. We recommend testing for mycoplasma and anaerobic bacteria two weeks prior to the female’s season to allow time for treatment of any positive results. Testing can be performed the first day of the season as well but results take several days and a positive result would not allow sufficient treatment time. Females which do not have these tests completed may be bred via artificial insemination. We also offer shipped semen.
We want you to have a large and successful litter and recommend progesterone testing to time the breeding appropriately. We prefer to breed females two to three times to maximise the chances of success. For owners who don’t live nearby, we will board your female at no charge for up to three days, and then for only $10/day beyond that (with proper progesterone timing, three days should be sufficient). We guarantee at least two live puppies in the litter or will repeat the breeding at no charge.
